Be a Polymath!

New: Science Workshops!

Have you ever wanted to know how radios work? How can you make a speaker out of some wire, a magnet, tin foil and a toilet paper roll? You can learn a lot about science by building radios in The Radio Workshop, and making telegraphs, speakers and microphones in The Electromagnet Workshop. These can be stand-alone courses for homeschoolers, after-school activities at your school, or hands-on enrichment for the lab period in your science class.

Personalized Math Instruction:

You can be great at math! I've been a math teacher on the West Coast, the East Coast, and even on the Equator. My conviction is that every student can get an A+ in math, with the correct approach. Some students learn better from hands-on projects, while others need lots of time to sit and think about a problem.

Students of ALL ages can learn:

·         Arithmetic

·         Algebra

·         Geometry

·         Trigonometry

·         Calculus

·         Differential Equations

I love looking deeper at equations with graphing software to help visualize problems. Most students don't get this kind of interactivity with their lessons, so this puts you ahead of the game for a start! For example, here's the most basic parabola y=x2 and the line tangent to the curve at the point (0.5, 0.25).

Graphing functions and finding derivatives is easy and fun with a little practice. In no time you'll start to notice patterns in functions and you'll be thinking mathematically!

I put on workshops and tutor on the San Francisco peninsula, and one-on-one interaction with students is what I love best.
